Prakasam Barrage

Prakasam Barrage is named after freedom fighter and politician Tanguturi Prakasam, who was first chief minister of Andhra Pradesh when it was divided from Madras and formed as new state. Prakasam Barrage is built across the Krishna River and is located at the outskirts of Vijayawada in Krishna District. Prakasam Barrage is 1223.5 m long and was completed in the year 1957.
