Kudremukh is one of the most beautiful hill stations which is yet undiscovered and unexplored by tourists. Kudremukh also spelled Kuduremukha is a mountain range and name of a peak in western ghats at 1894 mtrs above sea level. It is also the name of a small hill station cum mining town situated near the mountain. The name Kuduremukha literally means 'horse-face' (in the local language Kannada) and refers to a particular picturesque view of a side of the mountain that resembles a horse's face.

Shankarappa, is a designated guide by the forest department. He is so humble and localite. He stays with his family in Mullodi. He has a very good knowledge on the trek route to Kudremukh Peak and also the surrounding hills.

Bhagavathi Nature Camp has a nice kitchen serving for the tourists. Kalasa town posses restaurents that serves basic but nice South Indian food.
October to December, when you will see complete green grass land. From Jan on words grass will turn into brownish color.
Permission should be taken from the Forest Department office at Mala forest check post or Balegal village. Please note If you are found wandering in the forest near the peak in the late hours without a guide or a local accompanying, the forest officers have authority to detain you.
