Athirapally waterfalls, being 80 ft in length, the waterfall is a haven for flora and fauna. This gushing waterfall finds its source from Chalakudy River. Describing the scenic beauty of the waterfall in words is almost impossible. Being home to some of the most endangered species of birds including the Hornbill, the cool ambience and the tranquility felt in this place acts as a refreshing remedy for the tired travelers.
The pleasing sight of the silvery whiteness of the waterfall set amidst the thick foliage and shrubbery of the jungle offers a visual delight and is an excellent picnic spot. Swimming is a popular indulgence but need to be careful. Travellers can enjoy driving or strolling in the jungles during daytime.
Sourcing its origin from the Chalakudy River, Vazhachal Falls are scenically located just 5 kms from the Athirapally falls. Classified as one of the finest waterfalls in India, Vazhachal Waterfall cascades on the edge of the Sholayar forest range in the state.
Gurgling down with great speed, the view of this waterfall is just splendid. The nearby Vazhachal Forest is a good place for enjoying the view of the flora and the fauna of the surroundings.
Charpa falls lies east of athirappilly and is between Athirapally falls and Vazhachal falls, it is seasonal, as summer starts to appear, it starts to disappear. It is a monsoon falls. Charpa falls is wonderful with a deafening roar at right on the road. It is a sight to watch and enjoy though it is least known. Be ready to get drenched if you are visiting it in the rainy season
